A Belgian Model 1924 Mauser Bayonet and Original Steel Scabbard. This Belgian Model 1924 export bayonet, represents a development in the production of universal Mauser accessories. The specimen is characterized by its substantial, straight, single-edged steel blade featuring a deep longitudinal fuller designed to ensure optimal weight distribution and structural integrity. The hilt assembly is meticulously constructed with contoured wooden grip scales, fastened by two steel rivets, and a polished steel bird’s-head pommel containing a functional locking mechanism. A standard crossguard incorporates an integral muzzle ring, facilitating attachment to the Mauser variants. The corresponding scabbard is of all-steel manufacture, exhibiting a dark metallic finish and including a protective ball finial and a rectangular frog lug. Notable inventory stamps are visible on the scabbard throat.
