Stunning, Large Size, Sapper Engineer's Axe, France, First Empire, early 19th century. The forged steel blade is mounted on a black wooden shaft. The ax has a wide blade at the front and a hammer at the back. There is a brass end at the bottom of the shaft. A wonderful collector's item in excellent condition.length 110 cm.
