Description
Magnificent Ottoman yatagan sword with bone hilt and gold kofgari on the blade, 1823. Steel concave blade with one fuller on each side, gold decorations with inscriptions in Arabic containing the name of the owner and master and the date 1239 (1823). Bone handle and gilded lining at the base of the blade. The wooden scabbard is covered with black leather and has two metal ends on each side. It is very rare that such items are sold in excellent condition.
